Tia King

Tia King is a multidisciplinary artist, barber, photographer, and creative storyteller based in Brooklyn, New York. 

Her journey began in Laurel, MD where, at 14 years old,  she picked up a pair of clippers and a curiosity for transformation. What started as cutting hair became a deeper practice of connection, confidence, and self-expression. Through barbering, Tia discovered that creating with her hands could become a form of healing and a way to honor people’s individuality by assisting them to see themselves differently. . . and beautifully. 

Photography became another language of expression, using nothing more than an iPhone and an eye for composition. Drawn to the emotion found in simplicity, Tia began creating thoughtfully posed black-and-white portraits that reveal presence, identity, and quiet confidence. She believes the power of an image lies not in the camera, but in the ability to see people, places, and objects with deep-rooted intention.

As her creative vision continues to evolve, Tia is expanding her work into brand and product photography. She is drawn to creating clean, intentional imagery that elevates products beyond their function, transforming them into visual stories that reflect a brand’s identity, purpose, and aesthetic. Through thoughtful composition, lighting, and a minimalist approach, she creates images that are both timeless and impactful.
